Meet Jenni
I believe parenting is leadership.
And the most powerful leadership begins at home.
I help parents understand children’s behavior through the lens of development, connection, and emotional safety. When we understand what is happening beneath the behavior, we respond differently. And when we respond differently, everything begins to shift.
My Story
I did not always parent the way I teach now.
I raised my kids the way I was raised and the way most people around me were parenting. I reacted. I yelled. I punished. I took behavior personally. I tried to control things when they felt chaotic. I truly believed I was doing what was best, but I often felt frustrated, overwhelmed, and unsure. And nothing I did really worked. I loved my kids deeply, but I did not always have the tools I have now.
When I began working in early childhood education and studying child development, everything shifted for me professionally. I was introduced to an approach rooted in empathy, emotional safety, and understanding behavior as communication. I saw what happened when children felt safe and understood. I saw real transformation.
It was not just education that changed me. It was deeper personal work. Therapy, leadership development, and my own growth forced me to examine my patterns, my triggers, and the beliefs I had carried for years. That is when everything truly aligned.
Today, my children are grown, and I get to show up differently with my grandchildren. They are benefiting from lessons I learned over decades.
For more than twenty years, I have shared these tools with teachers and child care providers. But parents are a child’s first teacher. And you deserve access to this understanding now, not twenty years from now.
I created this space to give you what I wish I had earlier. Tools rooted in development. Strategies grounded in empathy. Guidance that helps you respond with clarity instead of reactivity.
My grandchildren are benefiting from lessons that took me years to learn. If I can help you learn them sooner, then every hard lesson I learned along the way was worth it.
My Background
With more than thirty years in early childhood education, my work has spanned classrooms, research, higher education, and professional training.
I hold a master’s degree in child development and a doctorate in special education. I have taught children from birth through third grade, trained and supported educators for over two decades, taught at the college level, published research, and led an online early childhood education program focused on preparing future teachers.
For decades, I have helped educators understand behavior, development, and emotional safety in the classroom.
Now, I am bringing that same depth of knowledge directly to parents.
What I Believe
Behavior Is Communicating A Message
Children’s actions tell us what they cannot yet say.
Connection Before Correction
Children who feel safe accept guidance.
Regulation Before Reasoning
Calm bodies and safe feelings come first.
Empathy Changes Behavior
Understanding creates lasting transformation.
Parents Need Tools, Not Judgment
Support builds confidence. Shame does not.
Small Changes Make a Difference
Over time, you’ll see big transformations.
